VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES
If you want to share your passion for the arts,
we would love to have you on our team!
As a non-profit organization, we depend upon community involvement to supplement our staff in a myriad of ways. Volunteers play many important roles during the season and throughout the year, including:
Volunteers directly contribute to the success of every one of our WCP productions.
In an effort to show our gratitude and appreciation for our volunteers’ time, volunteers have an opportunity to see the performance they support and after 20+ hours of volunteer you'll become a member of the theater and be able to vote in our annual election.

"One thing that I was told constantly was that if I wanted to pursue acting, then I should volunteer at a local community theater. I am so glad I did because I have had the best time at WCP. Everyone is so kind and passionate about theater that it's hard not to have fun here."

“After graduating college, I wanted to find a community that shared my love for performance and theater. I decided to submit a volunteer inquiry and within a week volunteered for a show and met some wonderful people! I grew up performing and working backstage throughout my childhood up until graduating high school. WCP truly welcomed me with open arms and gave me the opportunity to do what I love again. I will continue volunteering and performing with them. The productions are also fantastic!”

“When I moved to Huntington Beach in 2014, I looked in the area for a new community theater and found the Westminster Community Playhouse (Westminster Community Theatre then) and sent an email to the Board expressing my interest. Someone returned my call within 30 minutes and invited me to the theater that night. I have been involved ever since. Because of my expertise in all things technical, they gave me the opportunity to become involved. I love working at this theater and am amazed at all the wonderful volunteers here that I get to work with and call my friends.”

"Getting into theater wasn't the original plan for me, nor was it on my mind. But one day, during a theater showing in high school, something just clicked, and I knew that's what I wanted to do. The Westminster Playhouse has given me a variety of opportunities that’s opened the door to stage production. It's time to show my mentors who showed me the ropes that I'm able to stand on my own and show them respect by putting on a great show every night. Thank you to all who come to the playhouse and support this local theater."

“I was looking for career experience and wanted to get back into community theater after a several year hiatus. WCP was the first theater that popped up in my search and I haven’t left since! I’ve experienced so many different facets of this theater already and am on my second term on the Board of Directors. The experiences I've gained has also advanced my confidence and entertainment career with Disney. I've learned so much and I’ve found supportive mentors, friends, growth and the theater community I was looking for.”

"As a retired electrician I was looking for a place to volunteer my expert experience in the electrical industry. I ran across Westminster Community Playhouse and had noticed it needed a lot of tender loving care for electrical needs. I reached out to the playhouse sharing a little about me and today I've taken care of many of the electrical issues including: updating the electrics in the tech booth, reworking the lighting grid, installing cord reels for the set build team, new emergency exit lighting and more! I hope to improve and maintain the theater for years to come."
